This Privacy Policy explains how Music Bingo IQ (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

We keep data collection to what we need to run the Service:

• Account information: the email address you sign up with, and login credentials managed by our authentication provider.
• Subscription & payment information: your plan and billing status. Payments are handled by Stripe — we do not see or store your full card number; Stripe processes that directly.
• Content you create: playlists, song titles and artists, fun facts, trivia, and bingo cards you build in the Service.
• Basic usage data: standard technical information (like log and device data) needed to operate and secure the Service.

2. What we do not collect

• We do not upload or store your music files. Audio plays directly from your own device during a game.
• Players who join a host's game do not create accounts. They enter a display name and join with a room code; we do not collect personal contact details from players.

3. How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• To process your subscription and manage billing through Stripe.
• To generate fun facts and trivia when you choose to use the AI feature.
• To respond to support requests and communicate important account or service notices.
• To protect the security and integrity of the Service.

4. Third-party services we rely on

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. Each handles data under its own privacy policy:

• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Supabase — secure database and authentication for your account and content.
• Vercel — hosting and delivery of the Service.
• Anthropic — AI generation of fun facts and trivia. When you generate content, the relevant song title and artist (and any theme context you provide) are sent to the AI provider to produce the result.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers above as needed to operate the Service, or when required by law or to protect our legal rights.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you cancel and ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (for example, billing records) to comply with legal obligations.

7. Your choices and rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). California residents may request disclosure or deletion of their personal information and will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is intended for hosts who are adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
